About us

      MangoCats is a Singaporean fashion brand that handles victorian and steampunk inspired apparel and accessories created by uenki.

       My foray into fashion started back in 2002, when I was making beaded jewellery for family and friends. Soon after, friends and colleagues of relatives liked what they saw and I began handling commissions for bracelets, necklaces and even small bags.

       After an extended hiatus due to school, I started cosplaying in 2007 and that reignited my passion for fashion. Not only did I go back to making accessories, but I took up sewing and cloth-printing. Since then, I began making my own clothes, costumes, props, and even started taking cosplay costume commissions. I was exposed to many different fashion styles and subcultures, and I began to grow fond of all things punk and Victorian. Japanese Visual Kei bands and their elaborately detailed clothing was a particularly huge inspiration to me.

       And now in 2011, I present to you MangoCats, a result of all my love for fashion, crafting, games and of course cats and mangoes :)
